By introducing a row diagonally dominant matrix with negative diagonal elements and a diagonal matrix with positive elements, the <jats:italic>H</jats:italic><jats:sub>∞</jats:sub> control problem is reduced to a matrix inequality feasibility problem that can be solved by the proposed iterative linear matrix inequality algorithm.
