  • Beschreibung: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>(<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>)‐β‐Bromostyrene [(<jats:italic>E</jats:italic>)‐<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>] reacts with norbornene (<jats:bold>1a</jats:bold>) or dicyclopentadiene (<jats:bold>1b</jats:bold>) in the presence of Pd(OAc)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, K<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CO<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>, and <jats:italic>n</jats:italic>Bu<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>NBr in DMF to yield a mixture of the 2:1 coupling products <jats:bold>4</jats:bold> and <jats:bold>5</jats:bold>, while (<jats:italic>Z</jats:italic>)‐β‐bromostyrene [(<jats:italic>Z</jats:italic>)‐<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>] gives exclusively <jats:bold>5</jats:bold>. Under analogous conditions, (<jats:italic>Z</jats:italic>)‐3‐iodoacrylic acid (<jats:bold>6</jats:bold>) reacts with norbornene (<jats:bold>1a</jats:bold>) to give the diene <jats:bold>11</jats:bold> with an <jats:italic>exo, exo</jats:italic>‐2,3‐disubstituted norbornane skeleton.</jats:p>
