<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Low power black light photolysis of a solution of nitrobenzene in simple aliphatic alcohols in the presence of suspended titanium dioxide results in formation of small amounts of imines and for longer aliphatic chains together with aniline as direct reduction product.</jats:p>
