  • Beschreibung: This article reports on the main topic of the keynote address, and following roundtable discussion, at the 2006 AWWA Illinois Section Annual Conference. The topic of generational workforce issues was decided upon by the Young Professionals (YP) Committee as a topic that would be important to anyone within the organization. Facilitators led discussions focusing on the differences among generations, the threat of lost knowledge, the importance of effective communication, and the need to help new employees adapt to positions faster and more efficiently. The discussions ultimately concluded that effective communication and support at all levels of an organization were key success factors in an effective transfer of knowledge.
