<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>We have prepared a series of the title compounds <jats:bold>4</jats:bold> and <jats:bold>5</jats:bold> from the corresponding formohydroxamates and found that they are remarkably inert, resembling vinyl halides rather than the sensitive <jats:italic>N</jats:italic>‐alkylimidoyl halides.</jats:p>
