<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:sec><jats:title>Background</jats:title><jats:p>The present case is a valuable sample revealing a noninvasive <jats:italic>mucor</jats:italic> fungus ball (FB)'s etiological factors and radiologic characteristics.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Case Presentation</jats:title><jats:p>The hemifacial pain complaint of the patient was started following the development of type II diabetes. A homogenous and partial radiopacity was radiologically monitored in the left maxillary sinus. An FB in the necrotic background, primarily originating from <jats:italic>mucor</jats:italic>, was histopathologically diagnosed. A 1‐year follow‐up was completed uneventfully.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Conclusion</jats:title><jats:p>Diabetes could trigger a symptomatic <jats:italic>mucor</jats:italic> FB development. Practitioners should be aware of a <jats:italic>mucor</jats:italic> FB existence if a partial homogenous radiopacification is seen in the maxillary sinuses.</jats:p></jats:sec>
