  • Beschreibung: AbstractWe live in an 8‐bit world. Printers and computer screens, and also the human eye, are set to eight bits, i.e., 256 shades of brightness. For many applications however, it is recommendable to work with a wider dynamic range in order to gain more information from an image. But sometimes people complain at camera manufacturers' fair stands because they are not used to processing image data with higher dynamic range. Quite often in such cases, there is no problem with image quality but rather with the necessary know how to use the image data correctly.
