<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The low field thermomagnetic tensor components for the Bi‐like band structure have been calculated. The expressions are applicable for both the diffusion and the phonon‐drag transport mechanisms. The umkehreffect predicted for the α<jats:sub>11</jats:sub>(<jats:italic>B</jats:italic><jats:sub>1</jats:sub>) coefficient is purely of phonon‐drag origin and can be used to determine the temperature range for which the phonon‐drag effect operates.</jats:p>
