  • Beschreibung: The temporal changes of nematic liquid crystal (LC) molecular alignments were studied by measuring the interference intensities of the conoscopic figures obtained by the double block pulse method. Since the intensities continued increasing for a few milliseconds after the pulses were turned off, the lagging change of LC molecular alignments was semi-quantitatively clarified by numerical calculation derived from an alternating current circuit equivalent to the Voigt model in the viscoelastic theory, considering the force of inertia. The floating capacity, viscoelastic resistance and disorder of the alignments depends on the changes. The threshold energy to begin showing the tilted alignments was measured by changing a number of the first block pulse.
