  • Beschreibung: <jats:p>We report the western most distribution of the Asiatic Brush-tailed Porcupine Atherurus macrourus (Thomas, 1921) in India.  An individual was photo captured in the semi-evergreen forests of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, northern West Bengal on the night of 28 January 2019.  It is a rare rodent species that is distributed in the northeastern states of India but was not reported from West Bengal. </jats:p>
