  • Beschreibung:
In their article "Burn Hazard of Isopropyl Alcohol in the Neonate" Schick and Milstein (Pediatrics 68:587, 1981) report two cases of second-degree and third-degree skin burns in premature infants. Both patients were of very low-birth-weight (756 gm at 22 weeks and 850 gm at 25 weeks) and isopropyl alcohol had been used either for conduction on ECG, or preparation of the umbilical stump for arterial catheterization.
We wish to report on four similar cases observed between 1977 and 1979.
