<jats:p>The covalent carbamoyl compounds η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>Ru(CO)(L)(CONH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>) (L = CO, MeCN, MeNC, PPh<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>, PEt<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>) and η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>Os(CO)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(CONH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>) are formed by the reactions of the cationic complexes [η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>Ru(CO)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(L)]<jats:sup>+</jats:sup> (L = CO, MeCN, MeNC, PPh<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>, PEt<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>) and [η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>Os(CO)<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]<jats:sup>+</jats:sup> with liquid NH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> below 10 °C. In contrast, the reaction of [η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>Ru(CO)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(η<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>)]PF<jats:sub>6</jats:sub> with liquid NH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> yields the quarternary ammonium salt [η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>Ru(CO)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>
<jats:sup>⊕</jats:sup>NH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>)]PF<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>. With the cationic complexes {[η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>M(CO)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>]<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(P̑P)}<jats:sup>++</jats:sup> (M = Fe, Ru; P̑P = Ph<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>PCH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>PPh<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>) it was possible to prepare the dinuclear P̑P bridged carbamoyl derivatives [η<jats:sup>5</jats:sup>-C<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>M(CO)(CONH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>)]<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(P̑P).</jats:p>
