Beschreibung: <jats:p>Starting from PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—NH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (1) the silylated products PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—NHSiMe<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> (2), PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—N(SiMe<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (3), [PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—NSiMe<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]<jats:sup>-</jats:sup>Li<jats:sup>+</jats:sup> (4) and the heterocyclic compound <jats:inline-formula> <jats:alternatives> <jats:inline-graphic xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="graphic/Untitled-1.jpg" /> </jats:alternatives> </jats:inline-formula> (9) have been obtained. 4 and ZrCl<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> react to form PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—NSiMe<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>—ZrCl<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> (6), while 3 reacts with GaCl<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> to yield the adduct (Me<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>Si)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>N—CPh=CMe—CPh=NPh·GaCl<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> (5). Compound 2 reacts with ZrCl<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> and NbCl<jats:sub>5</jats:sub> to give [PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—NH—]<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>ZrCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (7) and PhN=CPh—CMe=CPh—NH—NbCl<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> (8), respectively. The crystal structure of 5 is reported.</jats:p>
