<jats:p>The <jats:sc>l</jats:sc>-valinates <jats:italic>M</jats:italic>(Val)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> of <jats:italic>M</jats:italic> = Ni (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>), <jats:italic>M</jats:italic> = Cu (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>) and <jats:italic>M</jats:italic> = Zn (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>) are easily obtained as crystalline hydrates. Their structural reinvestigation resulted in a general enhancement of precision for <jats:bold>1</jats:bold> · 2 H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O and <jats:bold>2</jats:bold> · H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O, in case of the copper complex in the correction of the previously reported space group and in case of the zinc complex <jats:bold>3</jats:bold> in the determination of the structure of a new hydrate <jats:bold>3</jats:bold> · 2 H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O.</jats:p>
