This article uses data from World Value Survey (WVS), World Bank and Polity IV to explore the relationship between country characteristics, which include economic situations and political systems, and the polarization of citizens’ ideology on confidence in government. Through the scatter diagram and regression analysis, we assume that the degree of democracy and citizens’ confidence in government have an inverted U-shaped relationship, and the GDP level is the same. The GDP level and confidence in government-related are negatively correlated. Moreover, both the GINI index and the preference headcount ratio and the confidence in government-related are positively correlated.
