ABSTRACT Functional research on a small sample of flake scrapers, and on an "alésoir" (borer), both from the Blicquy group (Belgium), has permitted the recognition of new types of use and haf ting of these tools. Scrapers were used as adzes, whereas the "alésoir" operated in a mechanical rotation generated by a drill. These elements stress the originality of the Blicquy-VSG group with regard to the preceding Linear Pottery culture.
