Ecology is now being taught in schools ; teachers therefore have to study problems they are not quite acquainted with. In order to meet the desires of some people, we introduce you to a paper about the Rhone - delta (Camargue). The fauna is studies in the course of its different habitats : from the sea-shore to the «sansouire» (a plain which is regularly flooded according to the season and grown with salicomia). They are : the sea-shore itself (wet sand and dry sand), the costal dunes, the «soudières» (over-salted lower places), the inner dunes which have been fixed down by vegetation, and last, the «sansouire». The diversity of the invertebrate fauna is analysed and the adaptations of species are noted.
