Results of Spot simulations in Bangladesh. — SPOT simulations over the Sunderbans (Bangladesh) have been studied using the method of "multidimensional decorrelation"; mangrove plant communities and land use units have been mapped at about 1/80 000 scale. High resolution satellites (20 meters resolution) will probably provide decision makers with accurate data ranging from 1/50 000 to 1/100 000 scale. Better results can be expected from SPOT panchromatic mode (10 meters resolution).
