<jats:p>Cicely Hamilton (1872–1952) is best known for her pre-World War I suffrage activism and her contributions to the Edwardian stage. The scholarly focus on Hamilton as an actress, playwright, novelist, and author of suffrage propaganda has obscured the significance of periodical publication in shaping her self-conception as a writer and a feminist. Hamilton honed her voice in the suffrage periodical press and the mainstream dailies, as well as the feminist journal Time and Tide, for which she served as a codirector in the 1920s. Hamilton's journalism offers a rich resource for scholars of the feminist public sphere in the early twentieth century.</jats:p>
