<p>The essay proposes a reassessment of Nietzsche's anti-Semitism by examining its systematic function within the constitution of his "theory of power." The paradoxical construction of the Jew as the "anti-decadent decadent" simultaneously reflects and masks the aporias of a cultural critique torn between, on the one hand, a strong theoretical impulse, and, on the other, an equally strong political desire to overcome decadence. By confronting Nietzsche's projections of Otherness with the systematic implications of his "theory of power," the essay shows how the "transvaluation of values" remains caught within a structure of perception whose sociocultural dimension eludes its grasp.</p>
