• Beschreibung:
The morphological and cytogenetical features of the artificial hybrids among four diploid species (2n=10): T. concinna, T. Krapovickasii, T. scabra and T. subulata have been studied. The hybrids were intermediate in several characters such as the colour of the flowers, and the length, width and shape of seeds; in a few traits they resembled one or the other parent. All the interspecific hybrids showed a high percentage of PMC with five bivalents. The meiosis of T. subulata x T. scabra was regular (5 II). In the other hybrids a low frequency of trivalents or quadrivalents was recorded; these trivalents and quadrivalents are evidence of reciprocal translocations. Bridges and fragments in anafase I and II reveal the presence of paracentric inversions. The morphological and cytogenetical analysis of the hybrids indicates close relationships between T. scabra and T. subulata and between T. concinna and T. Krapovickasii respectively. The latter species have a pair of chromosomes with big satellites. T. scabra and T. concinna are more distantly related. The cytogenetic study of all the hybrids among these species would confirm that they are independent taxa. They have the same basic genome, wich we designate Asu Asu for T. subulata, Asc Asc for T. scabra, Ak Ak for T. Krapovickasii and Ac Ac for T. concinna.
