• Beschreibung:
The analytical emphasis of this article is on the field of socio-economy in early cultures of the Nile Valley and the Western Sudan. Ecological conditions and social differentiation of these states would likely bring about a continuity of technological progress, but instead a discontinuous growth of technology is discovered. The thesis is that even if there is a different and seemingly antagonistic surface evidence of technological stagnation, similar structured processes prevent the development of new techniques. The relationship between producers and administrators in the course of history is also discussed.
