<p>In this study we consider a class of discrete distributions, viz., generalized quasi factorial series distributions (GQFSD's), generated by expanding suitable functions of parameters in factorial series. Well-known as well as new distributions occurring in capture-recapture analysis, ballot problems, among others, are generated from the GQFSD-family. Some applications of the GQFSD-family are cited.</p>
