<p>Cultural, physiological and/or morphological characteristics of living cultures and exsiccati of 18 taxa received as Sporotrichum species were studied. Four species are considered nomina dubia, one a nomen excludendum, eleven have been transferred to other genera, and two previous transfers are supported. Sporothrix foliorum and Chrysosporium pollaccii are described as new species.</p>
