Première citation du genre Lethocerus du Miocène inférieur de Bohème septentrionale (République Tchèque) (Heteroptera, Belostomatidae). Les auteurs décrivent des hémélytres et des pattes fossiles de Lethocerus sp. (Heteroptera : Belostomatidae) du Miocène inférieur au nord de la République Tchèque (mine de lignite de Bilina). Ces restes sont comparés aux hémélytres et pattes des Lethocerus et Belostoma Latreille, 1807 actuels, ainsi qu'aux autres Lethocerus fossiles connus. Ces fossiles suggèrent que le gisement correspond à un ancien milieu d'eau douce lentique ou stagnant sous un paléoclimat chaud.
The fossil hemelytra and legs of Lethocerus sp. (Heteroptera : Belostomatidae) are described from a Lower Miocene locality in northern part of the Czech Republic (Brown coalmine Bilina). Taxonomy of the fossil records of Lethocerus is discussed. Morphology of the hemelytron venation is compared with recent species of genera Lethocerus and Belostoma Latreille, 1807. The present discoveries suggest a lentic freshwater palaeoenvironment under a warm climate.
