ABSTRACT- The new photography owes much to the travels realized by E. Weston, Eisenstein, Strand and Cartier-Bresson, all interested in Mexican distinctive traits. Mexican photographers -Modotti, Alvarez Bravo, A. Jiménez and E. Amero - adopted subject-matters typical for new vision, but finally succeeded in realizing work more attentive to Mexico and its people. They published these images in magazines, photo-books and portfolios.
RESUME- Les débuts de la photographie moderne au Mexique doivent beaucoup à des voyageurs comme E. Weston, S. Eisenstein, P. Strand et H. Cartier-Bresson, tous intéressés par la singularité du pays. Les photographes mexicains — T. Modotti, M. Alvarez Bravo, A. Jiménez y E. Amero — adoptèrent les thématiques de la nouvelle vision, tout en réalisant finalement une œuvre plus attentive au Mexique et à ses habitants. Ils diffusèrent leurs images à travers les revues, des albums et port-folios.
RESUMEN- En el inicio de la nueva fotografía es decisivo el viaje de fotógrafos como E. Weston, S. Eisenstein, P. Strand y H. Cartier-Bresson, interesados por lo singular y diferente del país. Los fotógrafos mexicanos — T. Modotti, M. Álvarez Bravo, A. Jiménez y E. Amero-adoptaron los temas de la nueva visión, para acabar haciendo una obra mas atenta a México y sus gentes. Las revistas, foto-libros y portfolios fueron el medio de difusión de estas imágenes.
