L’article propose les bases d’une théorie économique du patrimoine d’inspiration substantiviste et institutionnaliste, c’est-à-dire tenant compte des caractéristiques substantielles des objets patrimonialisés. Cela permet de dépasser les limites des approches formalistes qui réduisent le patrimoine à du capital tout en tenant compte de la diversité des biens patrimoniaux. On peut alors rendre compte de la diversité des modes de gestion patrimoniale, des modes marchands aux modes non marchands ou hybrides.
This paper suggests some theoretical principles for an economic theory of heritages on the basis of an institutionalist and substantivist approach. That allows surpassing the formalist approaches who reduces heritages to capital. Then it becomes possible to understand the diverse ways to manage heritages, from collective modes to their commodification.
