La période 1960-1990 est favorable à la recherche-développement (R.-D.), dans l'industrie, en France. D'après les localisations actuelles et la croissance de la R.-D. dans les régions, il est possible de distinguer plusieurs types régionaux contrastés, qui nuancent les idées générales sur l'organisation de l'espace français par les industries « à haute technologie ». On examine particulièrement le cas de l'Ile-de-France. La R.-D. est le reflet des structures industrielles. Cependant, ces structures perdent de leur variété ; le rôle de métropole internationale joué par Paris renforce surtout le secteur tertiaire.
The period 1960-1990 is favourable for the research-development (R.-D.) in the French industries. According to the current localizations and the growth of the R.-D. in the regions, it is possible to characterize several contrasted regional descriptions, which variegate the generally accepted ideas about the French spaces organization by the high-tech industries. On purpose, the case of the region of Ile-de-France must be examined. The structure of the R.-D. in Ile-de-France is the reflexion of industrial structures ; both are losing their variety. The function of Paris as an international metropolis strengthens above all the tertiary sector stricto sensu (decision, business, information, touring...)
