Le développement de la concurrence entre territoires, accentuée par l'intégration européenne, et le remodelage de l'espace du Nord-Ouest européen définissent l'Eurorégion comme nouveau bassin d'activités et d'emplois pour le Nord -Pas-de-Calais : un bassin intermédiaire entre les grandes places économiques de Londres, Paris, du Randstad et de la Ruhr, un bassin composé de nombreux territoires en interaction, mais aussi de différentes dynamiques économiques et spatiales. Cette diversité et cette interdépendance des territoires et des acteurs impose un grand pragmatisme pour la définition d'une stratégie.
The development of competition between territories stressed by European integration and by the remodelling of the north-western area, characterises the Euroregion as a new economic area and labour pool for the NPC region : an intermediary economic area among the strategic places of London, Paris, the Randstad region and the Ruhr region, an economic area made up by numerous interactive territories, but also by different economic and spatial dynamics. This diversity and interdependence between territories and actors imposes a strong pragmatism for the leading of a strategy.
