Beschreibung:
Ancient texts and archeological discoveries brought to light the secondary agglomeration : Ernaginum. Associated to a Roman ways crossroads and a river, it is occupied from the Vlth century B. C. to the Late Antiquity. Recent researches allow us to make the point about knowledges of the shape and the formation of the agglomeration. One will inquire about the reliability of the picture issued from the cartography of remains in an environment where the extent of sedimentary covers may make more difficult the reading of the ancient town.
L'agglomération secondaire d'Ernaginum est connue par les textes antiques et par des découvertes archéologiques. Associée à un carrefour de voies romaines et à un cours d'eau, la Duransole, elle est occupée depuis le VIe s. av. J.-C. jusqu'à l'Antiquité tardive. La reprise récente des recherches permet de dresser un prmier bilan des connaissances relatives à la forme et aux fonctions de l'agglomération. On s'interrogera en particulier sur la fiabilité de l'image donnée par la cartographie des vestiges, dans un milieu où l'importance des recouvrements sédimentaires est susceptible de rendre plus difficile la lecture de la ville antique.
