  • Beschreibung: Kaolinite was hydrothermal ly synthesized from amorphous powder of alumina and silica mixed in an atomic ratio of Al/Si =1 with seed crystals of synthetic kaolinite to increase the growth rate of kaolinite under several hydrothermal conditions. The yield of kaolinite increased in proportion to the seed concentration. Seeding runs did not show any time lag in kaolinite nucleation, whereas non-seeding runs showed time lag. The yield of the seeding runs increased faster than the non-seeding runs. The yield also increased faster than that with dickite seed. These results indicate that kaolinite seed is more suitable for the nucleation site and epitaxial substrate of kaolinite than dickite' s.
