Beschreibung:
Inventory and Study of Geological risks in France at the National Department of Geology. — Work undertaken at the BRGM concerns land movements (land-slides, falls, subsidences...) and earthquakes. Working towards a common objective, i.e. the knowledge and prevention of risks which are attached to them, they follow identical or different approaches. If the historical investigation, the study, the selection, the review of information and data storing are in both cases in the same way and occasionally on equal footing, the approaches are different at the application stage, according to the scale of the synthesis. In the light of these efforts and the first results, the necessity for a total appreciation of the geological risks in France appears more clearly.
Les travaux entrepris au BRGM portent sur les mouvements de terrain (glissements, écroulements, effondrements...) et les séismes. Poursuivant un objectif commun, à savoir la connaissance et la prévention des risques qui leur sont liés, ils suivent des démarches identiques ou différentes. Si l'enquête historique, l'étude, la sélection, la critique de l'information et la conservation des données sont dans les deux cas menées dans un même esprit et parfois de pair, c'est au stade de l'exploitation que les démarches sont différentes, selon l'échelle de la synthèse. A la lumière de ces efforts et des premières réalisations, la nécessité d'une appréciation globale des risques géologiques en France apparaît plus clairement.
