New social and spatial indicators : quality of life, social well-being, territorial disparities. — The authors are gathering here a wide range of texts from the 2th Géotopiques Colloquium devoted to new social and spatial indicators on quality of life, social well-being and territorial disparities. They examine how relevant this questionning is. The fact that studies on the subject are making no headway seems related to a lack of conceptual approach and a need to elaborate a theory and methodology that can apply to a new and difficult topics. The question of the quality of measurement seem to them particularly important among the conditions funding our ideas on the production of academic knowledge.
Les auteurs introduisent les différents textes constituant les Actes du 2e colloque Géotopiques, consacré aux nouveaux indicateurs sociaux et spatiaux de la qualité de la vie, du bien-être social et des disparités territoriales. Ils s'interrogent sur l'actualité de ce type de préoccupation, le piétinement des études en la matière leur paraissant lié à une insuffisance conceptuelle et à l'absence d'une élaboration théorique et méthodologique adaptée à une problématique neuve et difficile. La question de la mesure et de sa qualité leur paraît particulièrement importante dans l'ensemble des conditions fondant nos conceptions de la production d'un savoir scientifique.
