  • Beschreibung: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Concise methods for the synthesis of 4‐hydroxy‐3‐[<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]‐methoxyphenylalanine (3‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐[<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]‐methydopa) and 3‐hydroxy‐4‐[<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]‐methoxyphenylalanine (4‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐[<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]‐methydopa) are described. The 3‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐[<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>]‐methydopa is a valuable internal standard for the tandem MS quantification of 3‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐methyldopa, a metabolite of value in the diagnosis of aromatic l‐amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency.
